Our Savior's Love

It is official.  I am the least of the least when it comes to coordination.  I used to like to think that I'm super coordinated and skilled in everything that I did or tried, but it just wasn't meant to be....

HAHA kidding. I've always known that I'm a clutz.  I've survived two injuries in the past month...dodging surgery for both.  First torn muscles in my rotator cuff, only to heal just before a torn ligament in my foot and potentially some tendon damage and possibly (but probably not) a fracture.  Like what?!  I just want to have fun!  But for me, fun comes at a price, and most of the time I still think it's worth it.

Sledding at Rylie's cabin:
Dangerous but funner than fun, and more than worth the injury and pain.  A damaged shoulder is quite insignificant and, for me, was a quick simple fix.  Nothing too big. However, people still cared.  They would always ask me how my shoulder was doing, when it would be better, if I was in pain or needed anything.  Even strangers that I had never talked to before.

Nerf Gun Wars:
Dangerous, but only if you're me.  Who breaks their foot at a nerf gun war??? Like seriously? SO fun.  I love nerf gun wars, but this one just wasn't worth it.  First of all, I lost one of my guns in all the commotion, and second of all, I BROKE MY FOOT. Did I mention that I broke my foot at a nerf gun war? Yeah. Retarded. (Okay okay, technically I didn't "break" my foot...I tore a ligament.  but it's so much easier to say I broke it, so we'll stick with that).

Once again, people cared.  I felt an overwhelming amount of support from the minute I broke my foot on.  People stuck with me, helped calm me down, tried to ease the pain or help make me comfortable.  Abby Gale and Martha Beh were HILARIOUS and kept me laughing through the pain and embarrassing tears (according to my mom I was crying pretty darn hard.  Can I hide in a hole forever now? k thanks.).  Angi and Capri kept me calm and packed my clothes so I could go home.  Jimmy and Derek gave me a blessing which was beyond comforting and helpful (GO PRIESTHOOD!  That blessing has stuck with me and helped me through this entire week).  There were a few other people there who I don't even know... Not even their names.  But they got me ice and medicine and water and whatever else I needed.

The first half of the week, THEY DIDN'T STOP! People kept caring, and helping, and asking, and praying.  I was on crutches for the first five days.  For the record, crutches SUCK.  They are simply the worst. For me, though, they weren't so bad. Because people cared.  Strangers would run ahead of me to catch the door.  Other strangers would tell me they hope I get better soon.  My roommate Miranda offered me rides to places, Angi walked slower than a snail with me while I crutched around campus.  People kept asking me how much long
er on the crutches, and how my foot was doing.  Shay made me dinner! People offered to carry  my backpack for me.  The list goes ON and ON.

People were so so nice.  There ARE good people in the world.  There were a few instances where I was really unimpressed.  But the good people are there.  The Christ-like help and support I've received over the past week- the past MONTH is overwhelming.  It is a reminder that I do have a Heavenly Father, and a savior, Jesus Christ.  I saw his hand in my life more in the past month than at any other time in my life, and it was all through his very children. God loves me, and he loves you, and through me and you others can see it.
