As I continue to "grow up" (I type it like this, because for the most part I'm just getting older. What do you expect? I'm a college student), my joys and my sorrows become bigger and bigger. Each year my sadness is deeper than I ever thought it could be, and my joy is more immense than I ever thought it could be. I look back on hard times in my life, and they seem so simple and insignificant, but with each trial I face and conquer I change and grow.
This semester has been one of the happiest in my whole life. I have made friends this semester easier than I ever have before, and that's what makes the end of the semester so hard for me. Pretty soon, most of my new friends will be moving on to bigger and better things, and I will stay here. It's hard to see them go. I wish we could all stay here in Ephraim forever and keep the relationships that we have, but that's just not the way life works. I'll just kind of go through my semester real quick, and recap all the fun experiences I've had with all the people that I love.
1. My roommates:
As the semester has gone on, I've spent less and less time with my roommates, but I feel like I will always love them, even if I never see them anymore.
Sammi and Paige have been HUGE blessings in my life, and we have had so many funny memories together. They're great.
Ken Jones just gets me, and we have had some super great conversations. I feel like we were destined to be friends in the pre-mortal life or something.
Clarissa is a complete angel. She's like the mom of Snow Gardens C5. She is always cooking yummy food and sharing, helping us out if any of us are sick, and keeping the energy in our apartment at a high level. LOVE HER.
Audrey is constantly cracking jokes and keeping a happy air about her. She keeps the peace between us, and I can't have a conversation with her without laughing my freaking guts out. That's literally how funny she is.
Here's all of us (minus ex-roommates Katerra and Paige and roommate Ali) .. My face is so puffy from the many tears shed this day. (Last day of the semester)

2. Tanner & Taylor
The adventures that I have had with Tanner & Taylor are unbeatable. I have so much fun with these two crazy cats! They're so much fun. We go hiking all the time, and they're both incredibly talented in the photography/videography biz.
One time, Tanner and I decided to go adventuring up Maple Canyon. At the time, it was pretty icy further up the canyon. I was driving up the canyon, then my car just stopped driving because of the ice. I parked my car and left it running, and we both got out and starting playing around on the ice. It was like an ice skating rink. So. much. fun. We were playing around on the ice, and suddenly we both hear a crazy loud sound coming from down the hill. We turn around to find out that my car was sliding down the mountain. BACKWARDS. We both started booking it down the mountain toward my car. It was so icy that I ended up sliding all the way down on my butt hah. My car slid backwards a solid 50 feet, and into the bank on the side of the road.
Long, long story short, we were unable to get my car out of the ditch. It was probably about 15° F outside, and we were trapped up Maple Canyon with no car and no cell service. We tried for probably an hour to get the car out of the ditch, but we tried in vain. Tanner was convinced we could do it, but I knew that if we tried for very much longer with no success, our situation could get much worse.
After about an hour, we finally decided that we would pray, make five more attempts to get the car out, and if we didn't have success then we needed to walk. So we prayed (tbh I was like praying the whole time bc of how terrified I was. Totes thought we were gonna die). And we tried 5 times. And the car was still stuck. Tanner was still convinced we would be able to get the car out, so I finally talked him into walking out of the canyon with me. It was probably about 11 PM by this time, and it was cold, and the walk was long and icy. It sounds miserable. Am I right?
The walk out of the canyon was actually probably one of the best things I have ever done. When you looked up, you could see all the stars and the silhouette of the canyon and the trees. Coolest thing ever. Plus, we had a speaker and we were playing some radical tunes, which puts me in a good mood no matter where I am. Tanner was good company, and we just danced our way out of the canyon so we could call someone to pick us up. That night was definitely one for the books.
Here are a few shots that Tanner took up the canyon one time while we were hiking. He also made lots of super awesome videos that he uploaded on YouTube. So much talent.
3. Makena Lenhart
The best way to sum Makena up in one sentence would be this way:
A blonde angel who is extremely outgoing and crazy in a good way who also sings like an angel.
She's literally an angel. The friendship that I have developed with her is really such a blessing in my life. Makena is always there when I need her. She gives me straight up advice when I need it, and she always tells me just what I need to hear. She sees things the way they are, and not the way she wants them to be so her point of view is always so helpful. Also she sings like an angel. I could literally listen to her sing all day long. Did I mention she sings suuuuuuper well?? Love her.

4. Fourth Ward
Okay, these people are what make the end of the year so hard. To not be able to see these people all the time is the saddest thing in the world for me. I really don't even think I've met so many fun, kind, solid people in my life. I've never had friendships like I have with them. It makes me so sad but so grateful to think that I will probably never meet a group of people as solid as them.
There's the D12 boys (Josh, Nate, Mike, Mikey, Jake, and Jayden) who I literally can't spend 10 minutes with without laughing my guts out. Seriously. The amount of tears shed from laughing with them equals the amount of tears I shed saying goodbye to them (that's a lot. I'm a bawl baby, I know.) I'm really used to seeing them all the time, so the end of the semester is a sad sad thing. They're all going to Utah State and I'll be staying in Ephraim. Good thing we have social media to keep in touch though. Right?!
Then we have good ole Dave. Man oh man. Dave is like me, except in a different body. We seriously have so much in common it's scary. I cry when I think of the friendship I have with her (okay, okay, her name is actually Annie. We call each other Dave- Short for David o' Mikayla and Dave Foster, the drummer for Nirvana ((LOL)). It's a thing.). I cry because we didn't even start becoming friends until the very end of this semester. We've always known each other, but for some reason we never really hung out or anything. I became so close to her in such a short amount of time, and now the year is over and we are going our separate ways and it sucks. Ouch.
Me and Dave:

I've also become super close with Dave's cousin Nikki and her roommates Calli and Sophie (not really a roommate) who are both coming back next year with me. YAYY. I'm seriously so stoked to live with those two beauties. Saying bye to Nikki sucked just as much as saying bye to Dave did. The absolute worst/best thing ever.
Super cute pic of me and Niks. We look like Wack Jobs. ;)

Here's Soph and I. 2 cute 2 handle.

Here's me, Sophie and Calli after having a spontaneous mini jam sesh at a cemetery......

So anyways. Combine all those people and a few other peeps (like Riley Argyle, Todd Griffiths, Lindsey Squire, etc. etc.) and you get a big giant group of friends who are actually like family. We have so many memories together! One of the biggest ones being the Spring Break trip we took to Moab. It was seriously the best thing ever. When we all get together it's just a real good time and nothing less.

Here's the whole Moab crew at the delicate arch..Super artsy photo by Taylor.

Library parties were a nightly thing. One time, at the library, we decided to go buy cereal at Wal-Mart, drive up the canyon at midnight, and eat the cereal and look at the stars. When you live in Ephraim you come up with the weirdest stuff. Let me tell you. Hahaha. It was super fun though, mostly just because of the people that were there, and because we had cereal.
Here's a selfie we took after the cereal and stars in the canyon at midnight experience of a lifetime:

Here's a solid picture of Me, Nikki, Mike and Josh "studying" at the library. HAH. (We weren't actually studying)

Another time, on a Friday night, everyone went up to Salt Lake for a wedding reception. Sophie had ambassador stuff, Calli had homework, and I had a concert that night, so we all stayed in Ephraim. After the concert, we played a game of True American (refer to New Girl) with my roommates and some other fun people. Everyone got home at like 11 from the reception, and Annie, Josh and Mike joined us. We stayed up til the wee hours of the morn doing almost absolutely nothing. We eventually decided to play a game of hot lava with no particular destination. I think we were all kind of on a sugar high hahah. It was a good good time.
Here's a picture from a school night when we stayed up until like 2 in the morning having a snowball fight and building giant snowmen at snow gardens. We all should have been doing homework, but it was snowing! IN MARCH! How could we not?!

The last day before graduation, we all went down to Palisades. I have no clue why I have never been before. It was the prettiest thing ever. We swam, played catch on the beach, and played with fish and a little frog Mike caught. After that we went to President Jorgensen's farm. It was super awesome. We saw two baby lambs be born (disgusting), saw the many puppies and baby lambs they have (adorable), and ate hot dogs and cinnamon rolls (delicious). It was the best last day ever. LOVED IT.
Just a bunch of good pictures from that day. Here are a few:
1) Palisades with Niks, Dave, Soph and I

2) Hanging in D12 on the last day/helpin them clean the apartment

3) Popsicles, Fireworks(ish) and star-tipping at 2 AM

4) Palisades

5)Prez Jorg's farm

6) The Frog Mike caught at Palisades

7) Waffle breakfast (actually from the day before. Oops.)

8) Prez Jorg's farm selfie

9) Prez Jorg's GIANT WHITE FLUFFY DOG. I AM IN LOVE.

The last week of the semester, we watched a movie every night despite the stress of finals, including the midnight premiere of Avengers. There are so many memories with these people, more to come on separate blog posts probably. The point is, there has never been a dull moment with these people, goodbyes set aside.
A couple of traditions we had through the semester that I will miss like crazy include Open Mic Nite, Krunk Nite, and Sunday Nite Temple walk. So many good memories that I hope to never forget.
Solid Temple Walk Selfie:

Here's a funny video we took one night.
Left to Right: Sophie, Nate, Mike, Annie, Nikki, Me, Josh, and Riley. Aren't we so funny??
Blog post summary:
Snow College is the happiest place on earth. I've met the best people here. I've grown and developed into a new person this year. I've made memories that I hope to never forget. Snow College will always hold a special place in my heart, and this year will always be more special to me than the other years I spend down in Ephraim. I may be depressed the year is over, and I may have basically cried for a solid 12 hours continuously the last day of the semester, but that just goes to show how good of a year it was for me. Like I have been taught, with every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The reason these goodbyes were so hard was just because of how good my friendships were, and I'm beyond grateful for what I have been privileged with this year.
